  • Requirement of micro-banking software led to computerization of Portfolio Management (data collection sheet) for massive data entry work in 1993.
  • Software: Form 15 for generating Monthly Statistical Report developed in 1993.
  • BLMS (Branch Loan Monitoring System) was developed in 1994 to operate the Grameen Bank Loan Transaction System but this software was limited to operating smoothly in only one branch. Software Platform (FoxPro/Clipper)
  • In 1995, the BLMS software was implemented successfully to work in 249 Grameen Bank branches.
  • In 1999, DMC (data management center) was established in Area office of Grameen Bank where BLMS software was installed to manage the operation of Loan Transaction System for all the branches under that area office.
  • In 2000, BLSM was upgraded to MBLMS (Multi Branch Loan Monitoring System). Software Platform (X-Base/clipper).
  • In 2002, GC became involved in the implementation process of MBLMS (Multi Branch Loan Monitoring System) in the 4 zones of Bangladesh using GGS (Generalized Grameen Bank System). The MBLMS software was upgraded to Grameen Banker 3.0. Software Platform (Visual basic/MS Access).
  • By 2004, 95% of the total 1100 branches were fully computerized.
  • As Grameen Bank established 1500 more branches, a software upgrade was needed. This led to Grameen Banker 4.0, which was developed to perform the half-yearly bank closing operation without the support of DMC.
  • In 2006, the software was capable of generating monthly closing data and generation of auto vouchers.
  • By 2007, all operations of Grameen Bank branches were fully computerized.
  • In the same year, the G-Banker was upgraded to its 5.0 version, providing a more secure database. It was developed on a semi ERP platform.
  • The Pilot Projects are E-passbook System (Input gateway), Net PC or Classmate PC version (Output gateway)
  • G-Banker is independent and commercial software used by a number of foreign MFI around the globe.
  • Turkey MFI is one of the latest projects of GC.

Grameen Banker Version 5.0
gBanker5.0 is written in the Visual Basic6 programming tool in the front-end and using the Microsoft SQL Server2000 Database at the back-end. It runs either on Microsoft Windows XP/2000 for stand-alone platform or in a network environment utilizing Microsoft Windows 2000 or 2003 Server.
