About G-Banker
Grameen Communications (GC) was established to fulfill the software development need of Grameen Bank, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006. After its establishment in the late seventies, the micro-finance banking system of Grameen Bank required the use of structured software to work at its operational level. The desired functions of the software included administering the most complex portfolio tracking system, monitoring the daily transactions and activities of the accounts department, and working to generate the most important reports from time to time. In short, the organization was in urgent need of software that could supervise major micro-credit operations and advanced banking activities of Grameen Bank.

Experts of Grameen Communications (GC) researched the requirements of Grameen Bank and developed integrated software called 'Grameen Banker' for their MIS System that can work smoothly in all microcredit institutions and meet all software demands of Grameen Bank. In August 1997, Grameen Communications (GC) implemented this integrated software, Grameen Banker, in many Grameen Bank branches.

Grameen Banker is a form of database software that is used to monitor microcredit loans. The software consists of multi-user and multi-lingual capabilities, smooth compatibility features in the Windows environment and multiple report generation options. This unique software increases the organizational efficiency and reduces the workload for micro–credit service providers. The "Grameen Banker" software is developed with MS Visual Basic 5.0 (Language) and uses MS Access as the back-end database.
