Monga
Monga means a pre-harvest situation in which individuals do not earn sufficient income to properly feed themselves, affects people in the Chilmari Upa-zila and northern part of Bangladesh between August-November of every year.

Increase the standard of living of Monga affected people, who are detached from the benefits of technological advance. The project entails the establishment of an information center that will bring the benefits of information and communications technology to the poor.

Chilmari Development Information Center is intended to alleviate poverty in the chilmari by means of Information and Communications Technology. It seeks to connect poor people in rural areas with the global network chain via the medium of electronic communication. CDIC provides ICT services such as socio-economic information regarding monga affected families, e-mail facilities, internet browsing, computer training etc.

Database has designed for storing all types of data regarding rural life including information on House Hold Head Name and Age, Number of Family Members, Involvement in income generating activities, total income by means of crops and cash, Total Land (home stead and agriculture) List of job less month, Membership in Grameen Bank or other NGO’s, Sources of loan and amount etc.
